I wasn’t sure whether to focus on why I founded TheGospelPreached.org or on a more personal biography to satisfy people’s curiosity about the person behind this ministry. I was raised in a Christian home by a mother whose steadfast faith had a profound impact on me and many others. After being severely burned in a fire and coming close to death—with one child at the time—she went on to have six more children and lived to be 99 years old. For my mother, God was not a theory or distant universal force. He was a real, intimate Father who listened to her and answered her prayers. Her most important message in our home was simple but profound: “Regardless of what else you learn about in this life, you need to know Jesus.”
I was baptized by Fred Price at Crenshaw Christian Center in my early twenties. My early adult Christian development took place at Faithful Central Baptist Church under Bishop Kenneth Ulmer. Most of my adult Christian life has been spent in smaller non-denominational churches. I heard a call to ministry in 1998 and enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary, where I received my Master’s in Theology with a concentration in Biblical Studies in 2001.
My professional life spans more than 44 years in information technology, including software development and IT management. I currently serve as Vice President of Contract Logistics for a third-party logistics provider, where I manage a workforce of 700 individuals. I also lead our IT department, where I was recently tasked with modernizing our IT operations and technologies. After a few years away from IT, I was excited to return to the field where I began as a software developer over 40 years ago.
Throughout my career, I’ve led IT organizations in medium-sized businesses and served in global IT Director roles in multi-billion-dollar corporations. My experience uniquely encompasses leadership, ministry, and information technology. My passion for leadership was ignited when I led IT for Senn-Delaney Leadership, a corporate culture transformation firm that is now part of Heidrick & Struggles, a global leadership advisory firm. Through this experience, I developed a thorough understanding of how leadership and business culture are critical to success.
My love and care for people was further deepened while at Fuller, where I learned about leaders in the Bible who cared for people and was part of a community of leaders who were likewise called to care for people. My faith has instilled in me a strong desire to serve humanity, starting with those closest to me: my family, friends, coworkers, and business partners. I’ve always had an affinity for closing the gap between God and those outside the four walls of the Church. This passion, combined with my love for technology and leadership, form the foundation for the creation of TheGospelPreached.org.
I’m married and live in Los Angeles, California. I have two daughters and a son, and recently welcomed a grandson who brings me great joy. When I’m not pursuing my passions of ministry and technology, I enjoy the arts and trying to play golf.
